Please note: Our range of pH testing equipment are genuine Hydrion pharmaceutical grade quality and not cheap imports. Hence your readings will be instant and accurate as is required in laboratory conditions.

Directions for use

  • Dip the strip into the test solution.
  • Instantly compare the resulting colour with the matching pH colour chart.

Measuring your urine:

  • Midstream*, quickly wet the pH plastic strip with your urine flow.
  • Immediately compare the colour of the plastic strip to the pH colour chart.

Alternatively, collect midstream* urine into a glass or jar, and dip your pH plastic strip into the urine.

Immediately compare the colour of the plastic strip to the pH colour chart.

The pH of urine upon waking should be around 6.2 – 6.8 and move towards an alkaline state pH7 and above after eating.

* Midstream means to start your urination and when you feel you’re half finished, that’s when you dip your paper into the urine flow or when you collect a small sample for measuring.

Measuring your saliva:

  • Upon waking, before you drink water, tea, coffee etc., have your pH plastic strip ready and swallow whatever saliva is in your mouth.
  • Draw-up fresh saliva and then swallow.
  • Repeat.
  • When you draw up saliva for the third time, spit this saliva onto a spoon and quickly dip your pH plastic strip into the spit.

Immediately compare the colour of the pH plastic strip to the colour chart.

The same process applies if measuring throughout the day.

The pH of saliva upon waking should be around 6.4 – 6.8 and move towards an alkaline state pH7 and above after eating.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the results accurate?

Super-sensitive pharmaceutical grade Hydrion diagnostic pH testing strips give you an accurate reading of how acidic or alkaline your tissues really are.

Approximately how many tests per vial are there?

There is 100 test strips per vial.

Can I use my pH Litmus Test Paper to measure the pH of water?

No this product is not recommended for testing the pH of water.

This is because water is considered a “weakly buffered” solution.

What is a buffered solution?

A buffered solution is a solution with adequate dissolved solids to resist pH changes.

For example, urine and saliva are considered buffered in their natural state. However, rain water, tap water etc. are considered to be dilute, weakly buffered solutions.

For testing weakly buffered solutions, we recommend our water pH testing kits.

What do the results indicate?

If you have high pH levels – you have low acid levels.

If you have low pH levels – you have high acid levels.

This reading in turn can be used to adjust your diet and mineral intake so as to bring cellular terrain back into balance.

Are the strips easy to read?

Unlike other brands who have two colour charts to compare one reading, Hydrion pharmaceutical testing equipment are the true leaders in easy-to-read measurement with no guesswork.

    Very easy to use

This is the first time I’ve used your testing strips and I will be continuing to use them. The old ones I used had so many colour matches to match it was always very confusing. Thank you also for your prompt service. It was much appreciated.

    Knowing what to eat

I didn’t know one colour strips existed until I found your site. Measuring my pH levels is a priority to help me know what foods to eat. I tested the strips by haviong a cola once and a couple of hours later my pee was very acidic so now I don’t buy soft drinks.
