- Tear off a strip about 50mm (2½ inches) long.
- Dip the strip into the test solution (saliva or urine).
- Immediately compare the colour change to the pH colour chart provided.

- For accurate results, sample “midstream*” urine.
- Start urinating, and during the middle of the flow, collect a sample or dip the strip into the stream.
- Quickly compare the strip colour to the chart.
- Normal morning urine pH: 6.2 to 6.8. After eating, urine pH usually rises above 7.
