Haze Power Porridge Recipe

Table of content

It’s not rocket science to know we need to get air into the lungs to live. Yet why does an old adage state, “Death begins in the colon”?

Light can be shed on this ancient adage by recognising the hidden similarities between a muffler on a car and the carburetor of the cars engine.

For as any mechanic will tell you, if your engines muffler is blocked, no air can be drawn into the engine.

Same requirements for the human body.

If your body’s ability to eliminate waste material is restricted, so too will the body’s ability to breathe-in and absorb life-giving oxygen be restricted.

This could well be why the Science of the Meridians has the large intestines and the lungs as polar opposites for each other.

That is, the large intestine is yang to the lungs, as are the lungs yin to the large intestine.

So if you’re looking for help in improving your elimination, or if you just like a good wholesome satisfying meal, here is a recipe for a great bowl of porridge rich in linolenic oils and fibre, that when fruits are added, it takes the whole experience to another level.

A level in which many will testify to be most effective and beneficial in improving elimination.

The fruits of choice

To eat your fruit obviously raw is best, but slightly stewed in a small amount of water with a pinch of salt on a low heat for 15 minutes is really quite a taste to savour.

When choosing fruits, sweet fruits will always taste good.

Have a go with these ones…

  • Apples
  • Pears
  • Prunes
  • Persimmons
  • Fresh and dried figs
  • Stewed rhubarb sweetened with honey.

For best results, dried prunes and figs should not be cooked… place in a small bowl and cover with hot water over them and let them soak over night.

And for goodness sake, don’t throw out the water they have been soaking in… drink it people!

It’s full of good stuff!

Fruits are the Foods of Beauty, Truth & Goodness and a powerhouse of energy to boot!

The vegetable kingdom is the natural provider of all the vitamins and minerals that make, build and maintain the regenerative qualities of your body, and your body’s natural resistance to disease.

On this planet, there is no other food available to mankind that is so rich in regenerative qualities.

Our whole body is made of the earth, hence the old saying ashes to ashes, dust to dust.

The many and varied curative properties made available to us from the vegetable kingdom’s stems, roots, leaves and bark are transmitted in some measure to the fruit we consume as well.

Mind you, i don’t know how well all these curative properties stand-up to the imposition of heat when being stewed.

So keep the heating process of all your fruit and vegetables to a bare minimum if possible.

Anyway, lets make some porridge.

Haze Power Porridge

When porridge is prepared with the mind focused on power, it is a fantastic fuel for the body.

This recipe has been tried, tested and joyfully consumed by many a human and many a dog for that matter.

True in those day’s of full-time treating it was mostly athletes i shared this meal with, be they professional or recreational, but they all said the same thing.

That’s good!

Filling but not in a heavy way and is a nice way to kick-start your day with a very sustaining, breakfast brew.

i call it a Power Porridge because of the grains but when it’s eaten with honey, soaked linseed’s or hemp oil or other omega-rich oils, it really goes up a level and hits the spot.

If your not quite convinced about the nutritional benefits of complex grains, just look at a horse, bull or buffalo for example.

These beings and many more vegetable and seed eating connoisseurs offer great insight to the power that is contained and accessible from within the seed.

Blood enriching and muscle building goodness packed and ready to be harnessed.

Magnesium rich greens (chlorophyll), water, grains/seeds, raw fruit & vegetables whatch the health of your body grow!

Basic guidelines

  • To feed 3 – 4 hungry people well, you will need a solid-based saucepan with a lid, that will easily hold 3 litres of water. As the grains absorb the water they will swell. Just like rice does!
  • Be sure to cook slowly on a low heat and keep the lid on.
  • Don’t let the steam out. Stir at the beginning to make sure the grains, salt and molasses are mixed, then on with the lid, on a LOW HEAT, and don’t stir it again until its ready.
  • i repeat… once all your ingredients are mixed, its set and forget.
  • See you in 20 – 40 minutes for the feast.

Placed on the stove before your shower, workout or morning chores, its ready to eat when you return.

And the joy factor of your effort and morning exercise increases with the knowledge of what is waiting for your belly.

Plus it gives the body the necessary regenerative building materials to heal and grow.

If kept in the fridge it has a shelf life of 2-3 days max and is just as good eaten cold as it is eaten warm.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup of rolled barley
  • ½ cup of rolled oats
  • ¼ cup of hulled buckwheat
  • ¼ cup of rolled triticale
  • ¼ cup of rolled rye
  • ¼ a teaspoon of unrefined sea salt, Celtic salt or rock salt
  • 1 tablespoon of molasses
  • 3 – 4 cups of boiled water

Method

Step 1… Measure the rolled grains and buckwheat into the saucepan and then add the boiled water. Stir and mix thoroughly then add the salt and the molasses, and stir and mix thoroughly. Note: If you care to add other dry ingredients (millet, quinoa, amaranth, soy grits etc.), remember to add extra water.

Basically, for every cup of grains, add two cups of water. At this stage it should be like a grainy soup. Wet! Make sure the grains are well covered by water.

As a rule of thumb: Add a similar amount of water as you would if you were cooking white rice. Basically, for every cup of grain add one and a half – two cups of water.

Step 2… Its set and forget till its ready from here. Put the saucepan lid on, set the stove on a low, simmering heat, and leave it to do its thing.

Step 3… Leave the mixture cooking for approximately 25-40 minutes or up to an hour if your cooking it with a low enough heat. The longer the better! The oils that are released from the grains will leave a thick gluggy nourishment-rich mixture on the top.

Sweetened with honey or fruit, eaten with or without milk (yogurt, rice milk, oat milk, almond milk whatever), Haze Power Porridge is powerfully good!

With your health, your children’s health, your parents health, your friends health, your dogs health, and vitality for all in mind… Enjoy!!!
